Here’s what I used:

Here’s what I did:

I added 2 screws to where the handle was affixed to the top of the oven. I did this as an added precaution to avoid any unforeseen problems at the campsite (e.g. the oven falling into the campfire). If you go this route, make sure you use short screws (1/2 inch) or else you won’t be able to fully pack down the camp oven.

The blue stuff that you see on the handle is Sugru. I used it to made sure the oven was always level over the campfire. Sugru is also heat resistant, which made it perfect for this project. To see what else Sugru can be used for: Click Here!

So what did we make on this trip?

Cornbread!

The Final Product

The cornbread took about 20 minutes to fully cook. The thermometer in front was reading between 400º – 450º F. Whenever we saw it getting too hot, we just raised the oven using the tripod’s chain.

I hope you enjoyed this camp setup we had going on this year. If you did, please Like, Share, Pin or Tweet about it!

I hope your next camping trip is a safe and enjoyable one!
